Helidecks on Offshore Vessels

During 2011 Augmentias undertook work on two helideck support structures. One was a new concept and one was installed thirty six years ago. One is installed on a fixed platform and one is planned for a new vessel. One required meticulous analysis of the structure and the other a FEED study.

One was a traditional ICAO annex 14, CAA-UK 437 and CAA-N VSL D 5-1 compliant octagonal with a fall away sector of more than 240o and the other was a new concept – for the North Sea at least – of a Gulf of Mexico style rectangular deck and two separate fall away sectors.
